About the blog
20somethings Blog is a blog about twenty-somethings and how they’re faring in this economic climate.
The posts are divided into two main categories: the first, News & views, consists of links to news articles and editorials about twenty-somethings and the job market. I often add my own commentary based on my experiences as a twenty-something trying to find employment.
The second category, 20something profiles, are posts written by twenty-somethings who discuss their experiences and opinions on beginning a career in this economy. So far, over 100 young adults in 12 different countries have shared their career stories on this blog.
If you’re in your twenties and would like to write a 20something profile, please go here for more information.
The purpose of this blog is to provide twenty-somethings with encouragement and advice about starting a career. I want people in their twenties to know that they’re not alone; there’s a whole generation of people who are dealing with the same issues as they are.
And I want people who aren’t in their twenties to have a better idea of what our generation is going through. We hear all the time how young adults are struggling to find employment, but how often do we hear about their experiences or their emotions?
No matter what age you are, I hope that you enjoy this blog and that these posts inspire you as much they’ve inspired me.
Brilliant idea! I’m also a 20something, struggling with establishing my dream career. It really helps to know that there are more people like me out there, experiencing similiar life situations.
Good luck to you all xx
Terrific idea for a site! I’m a 30something but I write for/about 20somethings (with whom I work as a college professor) at my blog careeravoidance101.com I look forward to gaining more insights by following your blog. Thanks!
I nominated you for a Liebster Award. You can see my nomination post at http://careeravoidance101.com/2013/03/02/one-month-milestones/ Congrats!
Sorry – I nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award, not the Liebster. (Brain not working on a Saturday morning)
Thanks for the nomination, Rebecca.

All the best!

Thanks, Ally.
First of all, thank you for doing this. This is a great central location for all the 20something young professional bloggers to gather. I’ve liked this page so hopefully my readers can find use out of this blog as well. I can’t wait to connect with other young professionals like myself. Hearing others people’s stories gives me inspiration to try things in a new way and the motivation to keep on moving forwards and upwards.
Thanks Katie, I really appreciate your support and your kind comments. By the way, I also like your pictures with Grover and Oscar the Grouch
Thanks! I’m a PA for Sesame Workshop 🙂
I really like the idea behind this blog. I appreciate it more than all those articles I see in Thought Catalog or even Buzz Feed that stereotype what it’s like to be a 20-something. I think our generation is very diverse and with that comes different stories. I’ll definitely read some of the articles here.
Thanks, Jann. I really want to provide a firsthand perspective of what 20-somethings are going through and include a diverse range of voices and stories
This is great – so happy to be following! And excited to read these 20-somethings’ stories!
<3, Charlotte
Thank you so much for following. God bless!
Love it! I am also a 20 something who has found myself here and is navigating the world in my own way and documenting it! Can’t wait to read more!! 🙂
This is such a great idea for a blog 🙂 And as someone else also entering their twenties, it’s awesome seeing how people relate to me! Keep up the good work and I look forward to reading more of your posts!
Like everyone else has said, great blog idea. A lot of my 20-something peers have found success early on with their careers and I’m excited for them, but it’d definitely make me feel less alone in my situation if I can see what others who haven’t been so lucky have been going through in their efforts to start their careers.
Hey David, it’s Thanksgiving and we’re taking time to thank all the bloggers who’ve helped us out over the last year. Thanks for asking us to guest post and SUPER thanks for being a place where twenty-somethings can share their stories. We’re all just figuring it out. You can see our little tribute here: http://twentysomethingcondition.wordpress.com/2013/11/28/were-grateful/
I think all twenty something’s need a sense of encouragement once in awhile. I’ve found that with my blog at least as I’m sure you’ve found with yours. Great job!
